This online help system uses the font conventions described below.

Notes, Tips, and Cautions

The following icons are used to highlight special information

  1. Notes provide useful information and reminders to the user.
  1. Timesaving Tips or Best Practices provide information that may improve efficiency.
  1. Cautions contain information about an action that should be avoided because it might cause an undesirable system response, but not data loss or system crash.
  1. Warnings alert users to avoid actions that might cause a loss of functionality.

Font and Symbol Conventions

Font Style

Description

Blue Text

Used for links to related information and external resources.

Bold

Used for navigation path and user interface elements such as buttons, field names, filenames, page and window names, tabs, and menu options.

BOLD UPPERCASE

Used for keyboard key names such as ENTER and CONTROL.

Courier

Used for code samples and text entered by the user.

COURIER UPPERCASE

Used for database table and database column names.

< >

Used to enclose information that can vary, such as <version number>.

Italics

Used to introduce new terms, book, table, and figure titles.
